Hi, I am having a little trouble with over clocking my Q6600 on my MSI motherboard. When ever I try to overclock, and save my settings the PC will simply not restart until I use the jumper to clear the BIOS.
Spec as follows.
CPU: Q6600 @2.4Ghz
M/Board: MSI P43 Neo (MS-7519)
RAM: 4Gb DDR2 @ 800Mhz
In the past this processor has run happily for long periods at both 3.2Ghz and 3.0Ghz.
I am aiming for 3.0Ghz this time, but no matter what combination of FSB. multiplier, DRAM ratio I set it simply will not start. (Its not a crash on boot up, the PC simply powers off as soon as I save the settings in BIOS) I have tried upping the voltage as well, but it makes no effect.
I can't even make it get past 2.4Ghz at all, not even to 2.5 or 2.6. Machine just powers off and wont restart till BIOS is cleared.
Any ideas guys, I am not a massive overclocker, so I feel I am missing something obvious, or else, I might simply be very thick.
I can't understand what is is not working, as it has worked fine in the past.
Any help much appreciated.
