Overclocking a Q6600 to Safe Temps on Air

Hi all, I have the below spec and easily OC'd my Q6600 to 3.0Ghz but I'd like to put it a little more but not to the limits as I only want it on air.

I normally set my FSB = 333 and CPU multi=9 vcore=1.5v to get 3.0Ghz and its very stable. Any idea what timings I should change to get a stable core with a little more like 3.2/3.4Ghz?

Also, I noticed that when I do set it to 3.0Ghz my RAM (OCZ Reaper1066) drops from 1066mhz to 856mhz and they are only set to run at SPD so don't understand why they should drop in timings.

Any help is much appreciated.

Knock that vcore down, 1.5 is way too high, and into 4ghz territory voltage.

I ran mine at 3.6ghz at about 1.28v, temps hit just under 70 at the most.

For the ram, you probably need to set the fsb ratio, on auto it will probably knock itself down.

Andy, can you remember what your timings were set to on the FSB and multiplier?
would it be FSB = 400 and Multi=9

Thanks guys much appreciated. Might jump over to the memory forum now to get advice on the RAM clocking.

And a Merry Christmas to you.

Whats the chips vid in coretemp? I had a 1.2750 vid chip that hit 3.8ghz on 1.51v on a p5q deluxe board. P45 was the best chipset for clocking theese on. Cooling is an issue as theese are pretty hot running chips. Ill see if i can dig up some of my notes and post them up. That board was a bit quirky with voltage settings on early bios versions. Often the lowest manual or auto chipset voltages when set manually overvolted extremely high.
