Mine's at 3.2 on 1.224v and it only gets to 70 degrees peak on intel burn test. Rarely see it above 55 in normal use/games
There really is a huge variation with the Q6600s
Mine is 1.325 VID, and to pass 24 hrs Prime95 blend I need a BIOS setting of 1.38v. With vdrop+vdroop about 1.30v according to CPU-Z under Prime
With the Freezer 7 Pro, it was hitting max 62C core temp with very small FFTs but with the larger ones around 58C or so. I'm not sure if 1.38v is safe long term, I guess so as some people put a lot more through than that, but always a risk with overclocking
