I have in my possesion an old IBM X-series 240 server with Dual PIII 1ghz processors.

I have never, ever, overclocked a Pentium chip, not had one since I threw away my 266!!

Anyways, is there anyone out there who can provide me with any advice on overclocking this beast, if in fact it can be done...

The last people to condone overclocking are the mass production server manufacturer's.

For them, stability & reliability is the key - so the BIOS simply won't have any overclocking-friendly features!

Why not try to find a 2nd hand ABIT / ASUS MoBo that can take P3 dual processors - you should be able to overclock on those and it shouldn't cost much.

- Toff.

I have to agree overclocking a server is never a good idea... and most server BIOS dont allow for overclocking

IBM BIOSes have very few features period, let alone anything to allow you to overclock. Last time I looked you could change the boot order, enable/disable on board devices and not an awful lot else.

As stated previously the aim is stability over everything.

Well are there any other boards out the that I can get that support dual processors and overclocking?

And i'll be able to put the huge great scsi card onto.....

I would doubt there's much available, you're likely going to be limited to Supermicro or Tyan boards to get dual CPUs and (I assume) 64bit PCI slots. Both those manufacturers are server oriented so oc'ing features are probably going to be as limited as those you currently have.
