Hey guys,

Im a novice when it comes to overclocking GPU's. I havent really overclocked my GPU before and feel like its about time I did.

I gave the overclocking guide a glance which was useful, but figured I would ask for a more specific response. I have MSI afterburner installed but not really used it, had a play around but not sure what exactly to do:D

Anyone got any suggestions on what to do? and a suitable (safe) overclock I should try?

Specs in my sig.

cheers

Hi,

You could try 950 on the core and the shader will move with it. I have my memory set to 2200.

I'm running a MSI GTX 580 TwinFrozr 2

Hi...volts are on max...1150. Noticed we have simular systems. Have you had any issues with the card/afterburner not ramping down to idle?

nope cant say i have. What are your temps like under load? Im hitting at 67c with 825. Getting new cpu+mobo 2moz tho so wont push for a gpu overclock yet.

wkd, your case cooling must be pretty good then. Just hit 71c at 850mhz 1055volts. Running BF3, everything max, but AA differed off. What case are you using and cooling setup?

I have an Antec 902 with the stock fans. All air cooled system. I do have it set up to exhaust more air through the top 200mm fan. No fan on the side of the case and regular filter clean seems to keep things cool. GTX 580 monitored with afterburner which i'm messing around with at the mo.
