Overclocking addictive?

I got stupidly into it at uni, back in the Athlon Thunderbird days, spent far too much time and money on it.

Now I just want a system that works, been running a S775 quad core for over a year with one slip resulting in a new graphics card. Trying my best to stay away from upgrading, it's a slippery slope.

Snap. I was into it around the same time as you Dave.

2004-2008 I was into it big time during my first degree. It's expensive and time consuming, but hey I enjoyed it. Second degree decided I didn't want the distraction so I sold all my desktop gear and got a laptop to completely remove the temptation.

Everyone to their own.

well yeah kinda addicting! im thinking about amd llano build for htpc.. and the.. main thing i can think about is how much can i overclock it lol :P kinda pointless as it will eat up hd playback, light gaming at stock lol!

I have an addiction to overclocking it, then underclocking it back because I'm uncomfortable with the fact that I've overclocked it. Weird, I know.

for me overclocking comes and goes... I overclock when I get bored, or want to try my luck again (last time I fried some usb dongles lol), OCed my Q9550 to 3.4GHz today, but need a new cooler to keep the temps below 70C
