Hi,

Rather self explanatory post. Is there any general tips or guides available I could follow to get the task done efficiently and without any side effects to my CPU ?

I never OC'd before and it has been running at stock since I got it, the mobo might have overclocked it automatically at times but nothing major. I will be picking up an aftermarket cooler shortly to go with it and keep the the little beauty cool that I've kept chained up since 2012:eek:
I know, blasphemy. It's about time I make up for my mistakes.

Also any decent coolers I should go for or any I should stay away from? I would prefer air cooled, rather partial to water cooling.

I would look at the following coolers:

- PH-TC14PE
- Alpehfohn K2
- Noctua D14/D15

I wouldn't bother with the AIO cooler, they only last a couple of years at best before the pumps fail.

As for overclocking...try this to start with:

Enable Power Saving, C3 and C6
Set LLC to Level 3
CPU vcore offset to +0.010v
VTT to 1.10
Multi x45
