Hi,
Ok, I've had my computer for a couple of months now and i've been really struggling overclocking. I can use asus' CPU UP and get my processor to 3.20Ghz but when i try to manually increase this further i get no stablitiy what so ever! Literally gets to the desktop, perform a basic task and the whole thing crashes! I've managed to get into BFBD2 once but this lasted 20 seconds before blue screening.
My setup is:
Asus Ramage Extreme 2
i7 920 DO stepping
5870
6GB Corsair DDR3 XMS2
1000W Coolermaster PSU
HSF is a Coolermaster V10
I first thought the issue was related to overheating, but when monitoring the temperatues they remain relatively low. I can see this in real time using the LCD poster when came with my mobo.
I've tried increasing the voltages a bit and upping the ???QPI frequency is it??? but to be honest i dont know what i'm doing lol. I understand that everybodies PC overclocks using different voltages, frequencies, etc. but is there like a basic setup which could help me obtain a target clock speed of 4Ghz?
Thanks in advance...
