Hey all,
I would like some advice on how to approach overclocking. I have:

ASRock: N68C-S UCC (Unlock CPU Core)
AMD Athlon II 240 (64-bit) @ 2.80GHz
Stock Fan and Heatsink

I know I can use the OC Tuner, but I'd rather get the opinions of experts before I attempt to make any significant changes. I've read through the beginners guide on here and on other websites, but my BIOS seems to have different options compared to anything I've seen before, and I can't find any specific advice on what to do, and how to do. I don't want to make any huge changes to the clock speed, only to between 3.00 and 3.50GHz.

Any advice on what to do would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks all,
Nick

Tried updating the BIOS? may unlock some options that were not there before. Beware you will have to run the Core Unlocker again.

See how far down you can go in terms of voltage, lowest I could go on mine was 1.175v @ stock, gave me an idea of what I had to work with. Have settled for 3.2GHz @ 1.275v, is still less than 95W (you don't wanna be using much more than that on your 4+1 board).

Make sure your timings are fairly slack beforehand and timings in spec.

EDIT: Just saw you're on a 240, my bad :s should still apply though I think.
