Haven't really ever overclocked a graphic's card before as I haven't really ever seen the need to. However I see it is becoming more and more popular and seeing as this is an overclocking forum at the end of the day, I suppose I could try my hand.

As I do know how to overclock CPU's I have an idea of exactly what it does, but overclocking a graphic's card is a different story as I've worked out already.

My questions are as follows:

What are the best overclocking programs to use for this card?
How do I know my overclock is stable?
What sort of clocks can be easily obtained from this card with a little tweaking?
Will the clocks be worth it in game (i.e. notice a difference in fps)?

I suppose you could say I'm an overclocking noob when it comes to graphic cards so go easy on me! And yes, this was posted in the Graphic Card's forum but hasn't really generated much of a response - Hopefully I'll get more help here! :)

Merry Christmas,

Dharok.

660 core makes sense, but what's the 1050 ram all about, isn't it already clocked to 1800? Or am I missing something here..

1050 would be 2100 which I actually think is a little high, most will not overclock that much, probably 999 to 1026 would be more realistic.

Another thing, about the shader clock is it? Do I clock that aswell or... What happens there?

So far I'm going to be aiming for a core of 630 and memory of 1010, makes sense right?

shader and cpu clock make more difference to the cards performance than the memory so you should try and get these as high as possible, then see what the memory will do

damn you guys are getting great clocks.

i use Rivatuner to overclock, ATI Tool's "scan for artifact" to see if it's stable, and it has to be able to run 30min without artifacts! (both works great on Vista 64bit)

used to get 648/999 here, but the new driver, 169.25, i had to lower the RAM one notch down. and to be safe, im running 621/950 24/7

I can benchmark (numerous runs) my newly arrived OcUK GTX @ 650/1050 ... but for playinn I'll probably stick to stock unless I feel that i am missing out ...

How long you guys usually run ATI tool for?

I'm currently at 630 core, 1050 memory and 1500 shaders on my gtx and run for 10 minutes with no errors so far!
