Hi Guys

Newbie to overclocking here and, try as I might, I cannot get my E6300 to get over 2.8ghz on my Gigabyte EP35C-DS3R MOBO.

I'm running it at:
FSB: 400
PCI-E: 100
Mem: 2.5
Mem V: +.4
MCH V: +.2
CPU V: 1.425
Mem timing: 5-5-5-15

Can anybody with the same setup tell me if they have achieved greater speeds than 2.8ghz and, if so, with what settings?

Many thanks

Martin

Welcome to the forums :)

What memory do you have mate, as 2.8Ghz you will be running the memory at 800Mhz, so to get furthur you could well be limited by your memory.

Thanks for the welcome and your replies. The memory I have is OCZ PC2-8500 Reaper HPC Edition which, I think, runs at 1066.

Can you explain how to set a memory divider. I've seen a memory multiplier in my bios which is currently at 2.5.

As I have said in other posts turn your volts down on your CPU
1.425v is way to high for a 2.8 overclock.

Turn it down to 1.2Vs it should do it easy.

1.425v is fine, stock volts are 1.35v for that CPU so no way will it do in excess of 3Ghz on 1.2v, it may be fine on stock volts tho

Set you memory to run 1:1 with the CPU to be sure its not holding you back. With gigabyte boards you need to press CTRL+F1 on the main bios screen to unlock the extra settings

EDIT : Noticed your sig, you must have a good example
