I know its a really old not so great graphics card, but thought I would have a go at overclocking for when I get my next graphics card, as I'd rather learn on a cheaper one.
I have a GA-970A-DS3 (which isnt good for overclocking and updated to the latest bios) with a FX6300@4ghz. Its an Asus HD6770 on windows 8 64 bit.
Everytime I raise either the core or memory even by 1, the screen flickers at the bottom everytime I do anything, even opening the internet.
I have tried both afterburner and the asus one, installed at different times. I am running Catalyst 13.5 beta 2.
I'm guessing overclocking it probably wont make any noticeable difference, its just I'd like to learn how to do it.
Any ideas?

That was the first program I used, as thats what most people seem to recommend but it was exactly the same

Ok cheers, I'll give it a go, if it doesnt work think I'll just give up as I cant see it making much difference anyway.

Oh yes, thats what I was thinking, will wait for the new ones to come out before I make any purchases though
