Help!

I'm pretty new to all this overclocking having never done it before. I have just put together my third system build and wish to overclock my cpu.

This is the system I have:

i5 2500k
Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 P1.10
Kingston HyperXGenesis Grey 8GB (will be increasing to 16 before xmas)
Gelid Tranquilo cooler
Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Hitachi 2tb sata3 6gb/s hdd

Those are just the basics I have for now. I dont have a dedicated graphics card or sound card yet but intend to get those either before xmas or in the new year. I don't believe I will need a high end card because I'm not much of a gamer. Will probably only play the odd game F1 game etc and maybe also get MS Flight when that comes out next year. So will probably only get a mid range/priced card. I do quite a bit of work in DAW's, a lot of photo work and a tiny bit of video editing so will be getting a pretty good sound card though probably a firewire external one and mid range graphics card.

I have taken a look at the beginners guide here:

So far I have downloaded the OCCT program. Just wondering what other progams you would recommend I download to OC my system? I also have the Asrock extreme tuner utility and anything that came with my board. I'm sure there is also meant to be some sort of turbo button for this board and my i5 cpu if I remember rightly that boosts it for you I think from 3.3 to 3.8ghz is that correct and then you can overclock from there?

Also just wondering if anyone else has the same cpu as me and similar set up what settings and programs have you used to overclock your cpu, and what stable o.c. did you attain?

Thanks,

John

Just start with stepping the multiplier up notch by notch untill she fails to boot, you will probably get to x43 before that happens and you might well just be happy with that, 4.3GHZ is pretty fast for minimal effort.
