hi all im new to this overclocking stuff and want to learn.
ive just got a new setup and want to overclock my i5.
my specs are: asrock z68 extreme 3 gen 3 motherboard.
i5 2500k cpu
ati 6850 gpu
real power 850w coolermaster psu
2x4gb corsair vengence 1600mhz ram
arctic freezer 13 pro cpu cooler
so ive gone into the uefi bios and all i have done is changed the cpu ratio settings from 33 which is 3.3ghz to 42 which is 4.2ghz.i only know this from looking at a couple on vids on youtube.there is also a setting called optimized cpu oc settings so i turn it to manual and its got 4ghz,4.2ghz,4.4ghz and so on.so is this all i have to do to overclock the i5 or do i have to change anything else.
i did this overclock last week and everything seems to work fine any help thanx.
