Overclocking an i7 4770K

Thanks Make - appreciated. I'll take a look.

What are people obtaining on average? I can see a lot of people saying they've reached 4.6.

I am umming and arring over one of these, coming from an i5 2500k which is currently sitting at 4.97ghz.

It really is the only thing that is old/inferior sitting in my PC now except for a 4k screen, which is pointless without 1gbit fibre to enable me to stream 4k.

Mine sits at 4.6GHz for 24/7 use but for benching runs copes fine at 4.8GHz.

^ I wouldn't consider an i5-2500K @5GHz to 4770K a worthwhile upgrade tbh.

Mine's a 4670k, but I run it at 4.6Ghz 24/7 on 1.295v.

I heard reaching 4.5 is average though, 4.6 usually needs that extra bit of bump.. but you have a proper cooler, so I would say you'll be reaching 4.6 just fine :)

Remember to tweak other voltages besides Vcore if you run into a wall, Vring especially!
