Overclocking and COD2

Hi,

Ok I have had COD2 running with no problems for a good month now. I then overclocked my pc to 2.9GHz at the weekend and when COD2 starts it says my pc has changed do you want to change COD2 so I say yes and it starts but in low res. When I go and try and put the graphics to 1920x1200 COD2 crashes and I get a Directx error. I do all the things it suggest to do with directx but it still has the same problem.

Would unistalling COD2 and Directx help?

Yeah i'd try uninstalling both first.

Download the new cat 6.11's i beleave theres a bug fix and performance gain in cod2 with them

I had this weird bug with CoD2 as well, giving directx error everytime unless I set DX7 mode. Never was able to figure it out, and it was kinda strange cos the demo let me use DX9 mode. I figured it must have been down to drivers changing or something...

i used to get that. try exiting xfire, worked for me (for whatever reason)
