Hey Guys,

Had a little fun in my Business studies lesson today at school, and found that this computer I was on had no password on the BIOS.

So I thought i might push the little P4 that is in there to all it's got, I succeed to some extent but then the system became unstable.

I overclocked the CPU from 3.0GHZ, 800MHZ, to 4.1GHZ 981MHZ and the RAM to 773MHZ, from 533MHZ. :D

And got a whopping temperature of 51c, from a lame PC with 1x 80mm fan!

I will post some video's soon, if you are interested in my overclocking adventure at Guthlaxton College.

PS, sorry if this is a random thread

Haha nice one,

I will try and overclock it more next time I'm in the lesson.

I'm now trying to figure out how to bypass a few security settings!

Advice and technique's welcome ;)

Hmmm... the thousands of pounds sat in vaults in banks could be put to use by myself quite happily. Doesn't mean it's right to do so. The Ferrari that my nextdoor neighbour lovingly restored, but now keeps locked in his garage and hasn't seen tarmac in over 4 years - I could put that to use too. Same goes for my mate's Triumph motorbike that's been in his garage gathering dust for 3 years. They're all assetts, and all have a value. By damaging, tampering, or removing such things, you're effectively stealing the establishment's money.

You're basically a common criminal. Same goes for the OP who's fiddling with hardware he hasn't paid for and isn't responsible for, and anyone else who does the same. I know several instances where acts such as the above have resulted in expulsion, and in 2 cases, a criminal record. Kiss goodbye to your credibility & career prospects amongst those where it counts.

Good Point, but in the school I am at and the many other school's in the UK. Know one has respect, for anything or anyone. So the "establishment's" should have thought about this before investing there money in an environment where respect doesn't have a meaning.

I wish, I had no created this Thread.

The main reason I did was just to highlight the fact some School's should take more precautions when it comes to there IT equipment.

Sorry If I have caused any arguments.

I overclocked to see if it was possible, which it was. This then gives me something else to tell the Tech's, that their hardware has the potential of being damaged!

I then mentioned it to the Tech's, and go nothing back but a gormless face. However I then went to tell my ICT teacher about the situation, who then went in and got the Tech's moving.
