i am having trouble overclocking my Athlon at all, anything above an 8mhz increase in FSB causes it to not get past the detecting drives part, it is the clawhammer core, also what should the vcore be?
What else are you adjusting in the bios? HT needs to drop to 4x or even 3x to keep it below 1000 (FSB x5 = HT). Ram may require dividing 200 down to 166 or lower otherwise pushing up the FSB also pushes up the RAM past its probable max (200 ish). Read the overclocking guide sticky in this forum it greatly helped me when first OCing.
its default is 4x (all the 3000 can do) so 800MHz HT, ive been keeping the RAM below stock at around 333MHz, i have read the guides and had no success, it says the vcore for the CPU is 1.5v, is this too high/low?
My motherboard (as sig) also refuses to post past a 14 FSB increase, irespective of multiplier thats trying it with my current 4000 clawhammer and my previous 3500 venice I am considering updating my bios which is at present rev 2 up to the current rev 9 on the gigabyte website. Anyone offer any further advice?
hi i am also having problems over clocking my 4200x2 i can get it to run at 2.6 but i also want my memory to run normal speed but it will not boot i have to lower my memory to 166 mhz is their any other way (i am using corsair value select ram)
and my motherboard is a dfi lan party sli-d
is their any way i can get my ram to run faster ? but if not i would like to tighten the timings but i do not know how to do it i have my system running at 2.4 ghz at the minute and its fine if i could tighten the timings that would be great default timings are 3.3.3.8 i think
if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great
