Overclocking ATI 2900GT

Hey peeps,

I've recently built my new system and finally got it all working smoothly, so thought it was time to tinker with it and up the clocks a bit.

I've got a 2900GT, the card itself comes with an 8 pin power socket, however they only supply you with and 6 pin adaptor - it states that you have to have the 8 pin to be able to overclock it in the ATI tools, can i get around this??

I've tried using rivatuner 2.06, but there are no hardware options available at all...

Also when looking at the card on GPU-Z it's reporting only 509mhz on the gpu, and 510(1020)mhz on the memory, when it should be 600/1600 which has got me worried. On the flipside to that however, i think it's only supposed to have 240 shaders, but it's reporting 320? It's running 41/48 degrees at idle.

Has any1 got any ideas on how to sort this and get some clocks up?

Cheers in advance!

the lower clocks are due to the card having 2d and 3d clocks, it goes down to 2d when you are not running any 3d apps, ati tool should be able to clock the card with just a 6 pin power connector in.
