In the brief 20 minutes I had a crossfire setup yesterday before my motherboard died I noticed in catalyst Control Centre that only the Master card was seen.

If I wanted to overclock both cards would I have to install firstly the single "slave" card and clock that one and then install the Master, enable crossfire and then clock that card?

no you have to use a program called ati tool, download it form here

you can pick which card you want to clock, remember to increase the voltages on each card before you turn the core speeds up, there are threads with give you what voltage to get it to

when I run this it tells me the "slave" card is not seen by Windows yet in Device manager its there.
