Hi guys, I'm trying to overclock my processor without messing up my pc, and so before I do so, I was wondering if there was anyone here who can give my first hand advice.

I'm a bit hazey over the core 2 duo overclocking because I've only ever overclocked AMD cpus which were fairly easy to do. When I go into the bios with these new intel cpus I am just confuzzled.

The hardware I am using is:

Core 2 duo E6400
Artic Cooling Freezer 7 pro
Abit AB9 (not pro)
2GB (2x1GB) TwinX XMS2 6400C5

thanks

Okay, so I tried it for myself with some consequences. I got up to 3Ghz and my pc just shut off. The next time I turned it on it just beeped for ages, so I had to reset the cmos.

Obviously, I need some help here, as I am doing everything wrong.

Please help so I Don't destroy my computer lol :p

By the way guys, LEOWL, I just found out my heatsink wasn't fitted correctly on my cpu when I saw the temps sky rocket when I was on a 2.8ghz. One of the screws came loose and the thing was literally hanging, tut tut.
