Hello to all

I have recently received a new MSI GD53 motherboard back after RMA'ing the original faulty one. All is working nicely now which is a relief. I have recently overclocked my i5 2500k to 4.2Ghz and am getting idle temps of about 42~45oC. Previously I was getting around 37oC before the overclock.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal temperature increase or slightly too high? I am using a Arctic Cooling Rev.2 Freezer 7.

Thanks :)

I have a 2500k overclocked to 4.4Ghz and it idles in the mid thirties, though I have a corsair A50 cooler with an apache on it. I'd expect the temperatures to be a bit lower but I'm not certain how that cooler performs.

They sound a bit better, I was thinking of getting a Corsair cooler as I fitted one with a bundle I got from OcUK for my parents, it seemed to fit very nicely! I will have to see how many pennies they are!
