overclocking database?

Hi,

I haven't had the time recently to update the table. I posted a few months ago to say I wouldn't be around so much as I used to be. If someone can take the information I have gathered and make it into an SQL DB or similar then feel free but be warned that regardless you WILL need regular MANUAL input on a regular basis. The only real answer is a BOT from OCUK. But until then you will just have to wait till my next update (which I plan soon).

BTW...you can use my hosting (MySQL and ASP) if it helps.

Hi there, thats great work!

Anyone with some of Excel knowledge? Im sure you can covert an Excel document into HTML, then just host it as a viewable sheet from your homepage?

Not wanting to take away your hard work, but it maybe simpler? Could maybe get a forum admin/don to have a stickied post where the viewable sheet is posted, person who created the topic updates it regularly via Excel & links it to his homepage - sends link to Don weekly for updateschanges?

Create a new clean overclock topic as well whatever happens?

Anyway just an idea thats all, I'm impressed with the website created, if I knew how to convert an Excel sheet to html, I would do it & keep it upto date all the time.

Way too much hassle. You need to create a web form that puts the data into a table. That means your hosting will have to support a database engine eg. for simple stuff, Frontpage + Access on a Windows Server, for more complicated stuff PHP + MySQL on a Windows or (more likely) Linux Server.

In Excel 2003

FILE->SAVE AS WEBPAGE

In earlier versions

FILE->SAVE AS->(select HTML from dropdown type)

So it's pretty easy.

Sorry - I'd like to make it clear that the hassle will be for you to maintain in the long-term and certainly not having a go at your work. Sorry if you read that and thought WTF?

ive found a database creator, really nifty wee prog. you sure you dont mind me using your current submitted info of your pages?

If the end result is better than the original then I have no problem at all. Once you have something up and running let me see (add me to messenger) all being good I'll ask for my sticky to be replaced. :)

I'm sure blighter would be happy to host this if you need some hosting. He's already hosting the collage.

that would be great if he could, it wouldnt need much, maybe 200mb at the most as its only text, no images as such

To clarify ^, this wil be a project for hardc0re_tid and not something that hasn't been done before so don't expect any perminant fixture.

Another option is being considered by those in charge here. ;)

yep, weescott is going to carry on with his database, while im just doing this out of interest. lol, i wouldnt be expecting works of art for me, i dont know how long this will go on for as there is no need for 2 databases of the same contents on the one forum.

if there is any info that i am able to collect on my site then by all means go ahead and use it scotty
