Hi all ive managed to get my E6600 upto 2.7GHz so far. My Target is 3GHz. I noticed something on cpu-z though, my memory timings have gone up a notch. Cpu-z also indicates that DRAM:FSB ratio is 4:3.

The ram im using is 4GB Corsair XMS 2 6400 on an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe motherboard. Is there any way i could possibly get the ratio down to 1:1?

Thanks:)

I Set the DRAM frequency to 601, that was all that was availible in the BIOS. Memory timings still the same though. Would i have to reconfigure those manually?

Thanks

Yes its the CAS 5 XMS 2 the lower latency ram from corsair. Would it better just setting it back to auto then in the BIOS?

Uploaded some screens of Cpu-z for you to take a look at.

Thanks

Thanks m8 will try that now. So what about the memoey tab though doesnt the readings go off that or is it just the spd thats that more important? sorry to ask questions im a bit of a noob.

Thanks

Yeah i see what u mean. Still tweaking at the moment, but those memory timings under the memory tab dont seem to change meaning go lower even on a 1:1 Ratio. All voltages are set to auto in the bios. So basicly is the RAM using the BIOS timings or memory timings off SPD right now?

Thanks

Just set the timings to 4-4-4-12 without touching the voltage. I dont realy want to touch the voltage just incase if i end up killing my hardware. All is ok so far but would it be ok to stick with auto voltage with the 4-4-4-12 timings?

Thanks

Just set the voltage to 2.1. According to Cpu-z my the freqency of my cpu is now 1.8GHz?

Thanks for your help by the way your realy good.

Ah right dont understand what those are? So basicly its still at 2.8GHz but only when its under load?

Thanks

Cool thats good. Any way it can be turned off? or cant it be, or is it just wise to leave as it is?

Il stop pestering you now lol, im off to work in a few mins lol

Thanks

Just one more thing m8, Its at 3.0Ghz (333 X 9) Memory is set to DDR 666 Which gives a 1:1 FSB-DRAM ratio. Thing is though im not using the ram to its full capacity even though its on a 1:1 ratio. Do you think i should just knock it up to 800Mhz its full capacity, would it work faster then?

Thanks

BIOS has only gave me the option of 829 Mhz which ive chosen and saved. Booted on to desktop fine. CPU-Z says DRAM frequency is 415 MHz This look ok to you m8?

Thanks

SP2004 Just halted the test while the ram was set to DDR 800. Set the ram to 768 Mhz i think it was that anyway but round about it. Seems to be ok now. Guessing it wasnt stable at 800 though, thing is though it was at 829 Mhz so its over what it can handle right?

Thanks

Still the same im afraid on the 4-4-4-15. DDR 778Mhz seems to be only the best i can get. Frequency is about 385Mhz at 4-4-4-12 not perfect but close enough?

Thanks
