Overclocking e6700 and Memory

Hello.

I've been attempting to overclock my system. I've never overclocked before but i changed quite a few settings in my bios and saved it and it seemed to start up okay.

The system is:

e6700
OCZ 4gb dual channel vista ram
Gigabyte DS3 Motherboard

i set the multiplier to 10x and the FSB to 310. I set the memory timings to what is supposed to be stock for my ram: 5-6-6-15. I increased the CPU voltage to 1.45. The BIOS showed my RAM as 930/920 (cant quite remember)

The strange thing is, when i run CPU-Z it gives me some strange results:

My CPU Core Speed only goes to 3100MHz when i do some stress testing. Then down to 1860MHz when i'm not.

And my RAM never changes from 465MHz, when i know this is supposed to run at 800MHz.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated!

Thanks a bunch!

Hmm, thought you two had cracked it with that one....i turned EIST and C.I.A.2 off but still, in CPU-Z im getting the basic 1860MHz clock until i do something.

Also is my memory set up correctly?

Frequency 465.0MHz
FSB:DRAM 2:3
CAS# Latency 5.0 clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay 6 clocks
RAS# Precharge 6 clocks
Cycle Time (Tras) 15 clocks

Command Rate 2T

Thanks for your help!

Interesting....oh well i guess i can live with the CPU speed changing thing.

Another little question. Is raising the VCore voltage from 1.3 to 1.45 supposed to increase the temps by about 15-20 degrees i ended up hitting 67'c at one point after running sp2004 for about 2mins (3.2ghz clock)?

And how is my ram? Posted the CPU-Z readout in a previous post.

My computer wont get into windows if i put my voltage at 1.4 i get a disk error. But 1.45 works and gets in.

I'm using a tuniq tower, but the fan is on minimum at the moment - Temps are mid to low 60's at the moment after SP2004 for 10mins on 1 core each.

I'm still havn't really got the faintest clue what sort of memory speeds I should be getting, or COULD be getting. Can anyone advise me on this?

Thanks
