Overclocking E6700...

I have a few questions I hope you can help me with.

I'm running a EVGA 680i mobo with E6700 proc, 8800 gts and OCZ 2gb memory.

The first question is a general one. I understand overclockings more immediate concerns are temperatures and heat followed by a reduced lifespan. I have very good colling in place so thats not an issue. Now the question is

A) what would the average lifespan for said equipment be at core speeds? 5 yrs, 10 yrs?
B) What would be the lifespan if the equipment was overclocked.. sensibly or aggressively?

I think the pc itself will be out the door in 3-5 years anyway but would overlcocking allow that time frame.

The second question
What speeds would be classed as sensible for my E6700? What would be high?

I'm considering uping the cpu speeds from 2.67 to around 3gb and tweaking the memoring sum.

Cheers

The life span would probably hardly be affected at all with suck a small overclock.. you'll probably not even notice any temperature difference.. you certainly wont be needing to up any voltages...

I suppose 4ghz is possible, as an fsb of 400mhz is easily achieved with these cpu's, but whether you'll be able to do it on the 10x multi is another matter, but i would have thought 3333mhz was a sensible overclock that doesnt push the cpu much... 4ghz would be nice, but considerd high i guess.

Who knows how long a cpu can last.. i have some old 66mhz pc's still running from YEARS back and will probably work for at least another 10 years...

1 question back at oyu though.. define good cooling..

Got a Zalman CPU heat sink, (CNPS9500-LED). Mobo on board fan and heat sink. And Antec 900 case with no fewer than 4 fans.

Current CPU temp is between 25C and 32C at load. How much should I expect that to raise with an OC?

blimey that is chilly, i doubt you;re going to see temps above 40c load if those temps are what ** getting... (thats at 3ghz, i can't really see ** temps going up past 45c at 3330mhz either tbh..)

Wouldnt mind the ol' 900 me self, dont like the look of it much though :/

I only had one problem with the 900. The PSU is at the bottom of the case due to the giant fan at the top. Which resulted in the 8 pin cpu power cable for my modular OCZ EvoStream PSU been too short by an inch. Nothing a £5 psu extension wouldn't fix but still ARGHH!!!
