Overclocking E8400

I've always know that my processor has a lot of potential and can happily reach speeds of 4ghz after weeks of trying to get it close to 3.6ghz im starting to think ive got a bad chip!

At stock voltages i can reach about 3.3Ghz 366*9 with it being fairly unstable!

The board ive got is a AsrockP43DE! has anyone overclocked on it before and could give a few pointers.

Currently everything is at its defualt values with no OC
Vcore-1.240V

Ive got a decent cooler! The akasa venom so heat's not the issue at the moment.

I upped the voltage to 1.4 and reached 3.6 stable! but that was running on half my ram slots filled out! thanks for the replies! ^^
