my rig is

Its a k8n-neo4f
3800 x2
2Gb G.Skill ZX Series DDR PC3200
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pr
unbranded 500w PSU
+3.3 28a
+5 25a
+12 22a
-5 0.5a
-12 0.5a

Ok from default im changing the mem to 1t from 2t dropping my mem down to 166 thats all with the mem

Cpu droping the HT to 4, CPU ratio x10, FSB at 220 sytem is stable but if i go any higher the overclock fails and nothing is displayed on my monitor or sometimes it screwed up graphics, Clockgen says my pcie is 100 and pci is 33 so that seems fine.

What would be you guess that is causing me not to go higher.

hi there,
i too have a 3800x2 but i have mine running @ 2.4g useing
4 x htt
240 fsb
mem divider set to 166
cpu core voltage 1.4
anyways i aint no expert but that psu seems to be suspect, unbranded 500w sounds like an COMPETITOR special :(
good luck
grolly

Akasa are decent PSUs. The top line are generally considered to be Tagan, Enermax and Seasonic - OcUK use Tagan in most of their systems.

You can look here for ideas and what other people have done with their X2 3800s. As above, ensure that the RAM is above the min operating voltage (some are surprisingly high) and maybe give it a small boost anyway. You shouldn't need any more VCore at this stage, but give it a boost to see if you can get it stable.

OK think ive sorted it by setting the memory timing myself 2-3-2-5 on 133 its upto 255x10 and running stable 40 mins off sp2004 hitting 50oC / sys temp 39oc through core center reading how hot would you push this chip on load

Memory timings - 3,3,2,x should be ok with those to ~ 240FSB. Get the CPU overclock sorted first though, then work on the memory :)

55 max load is as high as i'd personally go, however if the CPU's stable then keep pushing it :)
