Can someone that has had or got a FX-57 say how much they have overclocked it to, as im thinking of overclocking mine but just wanted a rough idea of what it is capable of! :D

Thanks

From what i have heard, on air most will hit 3-3.2. On phase some people have hit 4 with them and water I think the general finding is about 3.5 - 3.7

Also i have a x2 3800 is the x2 3800 better to have in my system and overclock it or keep the FX-57 and overclock that abit?

What roughly can i clock the x2 3800 on air to?

Thanks again

lol ... had is more like it :(

Thanks for your help going to give the FX-57 a overclocking tomorrow and then i might just put the x2 back in and see what i can get...

ah...i remember i was able to overclock my x2 to 2.4 but when i tried to go into steam and play Day of defeat source it came up with a memory error what is causing that, is it that it is too overclocked???

the fx57 is dead easy to clock, on my msi board, just turn the multi up to 16 and give it plenty of volts, 3.2ghz, im running on a freezer 64 cooler as well, 33 idle 45 full load

the divider is the splitting between the clock speed of the ram and the cpu. It allows you to run the ram at a lower fsb to the cpu basically.
when u see it say 400 (1:1) ratio and then progress down from that. i cant remember them all but i am sure someone can :P

i have managed to overclock it to 2.94GHz (210x14) <14 is the default multiplier>
and it is running 48c idle and 55c on load with 1.45vcore
anything else do you think that can be turn up or down to increase the clock speed?
can i turn the multiplier down and increase the HTT?, will this increase the clock speed?

I'm relatively new to overclocking and have only done so with a Celeron 2.4 and my current opty. But surely a 2.8Ghz FX57 can be clocked more than 3Ghz-3.2Ghz on air? Either that or i've fallen into the trap of expecting too much after getting so much from Opteron :confused:

Zeph.

Ok the max i have now got is 3.01GHz that is with:

Vcore = 1.5V
HTT = 201MHz
Multiplier = x15
CPU Clock = 3.01GHz
Load temp = 61c
Idle temp = 42c

The temps or strange though because isn't 42c idle and big jump to the load temp of 61c?

What could i do to reduce this temp, i don't have money to get water cooling or anything like that but is there a better cooler (air) than the Arctic freezer pro 64 which will keep the load temp down?

:Edit:
Im not going any high with the clocking as i think 61c load is high as im not willing to risk with a £550+ CPU

HELP! Is it the FX-57 or X1900XTX

In this tread i was saying that i got a max overclock on my FX-57 of 3.01GHz but when i went to play Unreal tournament 2004 it loaded fine started to play and then about 2-3 minutes in it froze and the music keep looping, now is this something to do with my overclock (too far) or my X1900XTX which is using the 6.2 display drivers? (heard that the 6.2 drivers were unstable?)

Thanks for any help
