Overclocking GPU and fixed FPS

I'm probably being really stupid but is there any point overclocking my MSI 7950 3GB card when I see a constant (I guess capped) frame rate of 60 when playing Max Payne 3? I guess the answer is it'll drop if I start playing Crisis and this is where it'd help?

I'm still leaning about overclocking the GPU but do people generally keep voltages the same to extend the life of the card? And not bother with GPU memory overclocking much? Just crank up the sliders in Afterburner, save profile and tick apply on startup and I'm done?

Cheers

If your seeing 60fps constant then there isn't much point. However for games where your not it will be worth it.

Just slowly increase the core clock slider until you crash/artifact then drop back a little until stable. Increasing voltage may help you push a little further if you wish to do so.

Same with memory although it's rarely much benefit to overclocking it fps wise.
