Hi guys i want to overclock my Gigabyte GTX 580 3gb OC edition.

At the moment it stands at-

In Msi afterburner it reads:

772mhz core clock
1544 shader clock
2004 memory clock

Looking for a little extra juice out of it and want to know which dials i should be turning up. Dont need much extra but anough to notice a little increase in FPS on BF3.

Whats the best way to do it?

Its probably realy realy easy but when i just put the core clock and shader clock up (they go up together) to 810core/1620shader it seemed to be less stable in BF3 and may have been the cause of a crash or 2.

Do i need to up the memory clock and core votage aswell?

Any info is great. Its my first nvidia card.

Is this the card that you have *Link*??

Just for an idea my 580's are at:

Default / OC profile
Core Clock: 832 / 910 (MHz)
Shader Clock: 1664 / 1820 (MHz)
Memory Clock: 2100 / 2200 (MHz)
Core Voltage 1013 / 1063 (mV)

They idle at around 45 C and highest card gets to around 72 C.

I cheated with mine tho, I googled stable clock speeds n typed the numbers straight in, I get a few extra frames in BF3 and have had no issues with artifacts etc. I will be Oc-ing further over the next few weeks, altho I'm happy enough with what I'm getting at the moment.

Im sure someone else will be able to help u more.

for me its idling at 32 but my case and room are pretty cool. never seen it go above 59 even on BF3 with ultra settings. thats why i want to oc it seems extremly stable.

what program you use to oc?

I run a 910 core standard on my 580's.

With regards to the temps, custom fan profiles really help, especially if your driving more than one monitor.

I've overclocked them only a little but would want some more seems stable anough and temps are stil ice cold. Played Anno2070 and that runs them even hotter than BF3 but its an intense game i guess.
