I just got a new gtx 670 yesterday and started overclocking it using EVGA Precision X by folling this guide I got the gpu clock offset to +175 and the memory offset to +50 I was getting a Heaven Benchmark score of 1210 which I thought was great. Today when i started skyrim my pc blackscreened and restarted so I thought the graphics card must be unstable so I ran Heaven Benchmark again at the same speeds and I was getting much lower fps and a score of only 962 which is must lower than yesterday ! Its also a lot more unstable now its blackscreening at only +140 clock offset whats wrong ?!

+140 on the core is quite high, try backing it off in steps of 10. It's pretty rare to see theese cards doing +120 on the core. Once you get the core bench and game stable, start working on the memory. Memory oc's pretty well on the 670 series, my own runs at +130 core, +770 memory. Also, what brand of 670 are you using and is it a reference or non reference design? Keep an eye on temps, as the 600 series cards throttle down when they hit 70c. Also, what psu have you got?

hmm i just ran Heaven Benchmark at normal speed and it shutdown again. The weird thing is after that i tried overclocking again and i got back my old good performance but it just black screened again, and my psu is only 530 W, its this one. My temperatures seem to be fine though they never go about 60 degrees and my card is the asus directcu ii

Thats a very good brand psu, and 530w is more than enough for a gtx 670. How is the card coping in games, any crashes, freezes etc?

Yes but just today really during playing when skyrim my pc shut down, I haven't had it for long but I have found that 3dmark freezes my whole pc when I just try start it but I thought that might be the program. My pc just seems to shut down during benchmark. I just don't get what else other than the psu it could be I mean my pc never shut down randomly like that with my old crossfire setup?
