right Im just curious about this

1 * Asus P5B , Conroe 6600 and either OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400 Dual Channel Special Ops XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2SOE8002GK) (MY-071-OC)

or

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 NR PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400PHU2-2GBNR) (MY-014-GS)

so on Intel boards can you lock the memory to a certain speed ? even though u overclock the FSB or do you need to use a multiplyer? Can you still lock the PCI bus.

so what do I need to do to overclock the 6600 to 3 gig?

For an E6600 all you will need to do is raise the FSB. I have yet to see one that couldn't hit 3 gig on stock volts. The memory will run async with the FSB but there are also dividers which you can raise/lower the speed. You can lock the PCI bus (33mhz).

Turn off all the temp control settings - cie support, max cpuid value limit, vanderpool limit.

Best to set memory timings manually and like W3bbo said just slowly increase the fsb.
