Hi people of OcUK.
I've got a Q6700 (2.6ghz) 4gb Corsair ram @ 800mhz. I have overclocked it and its been running that way stable for a few months.. I got it running at 3.1ghz and the ram at 930mhz.
However i'm not sure if i've overclocked properly and I feel I can go further.
All i've done is raise the FSB to 1240 (IRC) and its running linked so the ram has gone upto 930.
I've also changed the voltage of the core, around 1.3v
I've read about multipliers but I have no idea what the use of using this is if i'm already running at 3.1 fine with 10x.
I tried overclocking further and thought i'd run it unlinked so the ram was at stock 800mhz, but raising it upto 3.20ghz the PC would not boot (on but no beep) unless I turned it off then back on.
Could someone please explain the process and the use of using a lower multiplier and how to get it clocked higher as the times it does boot the temps are fine.
I can find out more information about settings if needed to help me further.
Thanks for your help
David
