Overclocking help e6600

I'm ready to overclock but have never tried it. Main componants are

Abit pro IP35 mb
Core2duo Conroe e6600 2.4 stock.
Geoforce 8800 gtx 768
4gb (2x2GB) PC2-5400Cf dual channel

For cooling I have the Cosair H50

What could I easily achieve when I OC? what should I expect if pushed? I have read the guides above and printed them out what else do I need to know or what should I look out for.

My core temps are currently 30 at stock whats classed as safe 50? 60? or higher.

First of all is your E6600 SL9S8 or SL9ZL. Afaik the SL9ZL is the later version and more efficient. Secondly what is the VID (stock voltage ) of your cpu?

How do I find out which version my cpu is?

My VID is 1.1625v

My core via the bios is 1.2250

The Core VID using cpu-z is 1.163 v
