Okay this is my first ever go.

I am aiming for 3.5GHz because it's nice for a beginner I think.

Okay so I put the multi at 21 x 167.5 = 3516MHz

So far so good.

I set the voltage at 1.25v

but when I booted into windows and checked CPU-Z it said 1.21V

So I turned on IBT on max settings and the voltage has now gone down?!?!

to 1.12-1.16 it keeps changing.

There was something called Intel Xtreme Phase or something like that in the BIOS that said if disabled it would run at max power all the time but I left that on auto.

Should I disable that?

I disabled speedstep and C1E

Here's screenies:

That's vdroop or vdrop the voltage drops under load, some boards are worse than others.
Mine does the same under load, but can't remember the actual figures.

Vdrop - This is normally taken as the difference between the cpu voltage requested in the bios and that reported by cpu-z, and can be considered a calibration problem if you like. More logically it's the same as vdroop, the bios voltage is the voltage applied when the processor is turned off, and in when in windows it's drawing a little current, so the voltage droops a little bit.

Vdroop - When a component draws more current from an imperfect power supply (yours isn't perfect), the voltage across it falls. This is normal, and what Intel & AMD are designing for. If you're wating cpu-z, then you start a stress test, the cpu voltage should decrease.

Okay is it something to be worried about?

I'm shocked I'm hitting 3.8GHz under IBT and it's saying 1.248V

I set it in Bios to 1.35.

Stable at 3.8 :D:D:D
