Overclocking Help please!!!

I have a Foxconn G31MX-K motherboard and my CPU is an Intel Q8300 @ 2.5GHz, I am trying to overclock it but cant do it. If i change the options in the BIOS they go back to default settings when i leave and yes I do save the settings I change.

Is there anything i can do to sort this and overclock my CPU?

Also I have a CM Hyper 212+ cooler for my CPU.
 
Its probably resetting itself after the overclock fails. What has the CPU core voltage been set to and what memory make and model are you using?

Just to highlight- your motherboard really isn't one made with overclocking in mind (never mind quad cores), so I wouldn't expect to get much of an overclock out of it - especially since the Q8400 chips are known for not being great to overclock (mainly due to high stock FSB and low maximum multipliers). That said, best of luck and I hope you go as high as possible.
