Overclocking Help

I have reset my bios to default as GFX wasn't booting up- this has now cured it. However, I copied all my OC settings and re inputted to BIOS exactly as they were and yet it has set the clock speed lower than stock??? My i7 950 is running at 2.9ghz, even thought the BIOS has saved my OC settings- any ideas?

Here are a few screenshots:

Sounds like speedstep is enabled so thats normal when idle.Try stressing cpu with prime95 of intel burn test to show the cpu speed under load.

Thanks. When it was overclocked previously it showed 4.4ghz even at idle. What is even more confusing is that coretemp is showing it as an I7 940 and not a 950!!! Wtf??? How do I disable speedstep please?
Thanks

Download cpuz to get cpu info as it must be a glitch in coretemp.

There is no need in turning speedstep off imo as why have the pc pumping out heat and power when idle.If you do want to turn it off it should be under cpu configuration on 3rd pic you posted.
