System spec:

Intel 4790k @4.7ghz watercooled
asus maximus formula vii
16gb avexir 2666mhz

Im new to overclocking ive managed to get the 4790k to 4.7ghz on 1.3v temp stays around 62c but if i raise it to 4.8ghz as soon as i run prime 95 it freezes then restarts.
Can i go above 1.3v safely or should i just stay at 4.7ghz

I'd just keep it at 4.7ghz the extra heat and stress on the CPU isn't worth the extra 100mhz.

Prime is a junk stress test.

Yes you can go above 1.3v and just use your PC as a stress test or use something like ASUS real bench which stresses your PC as it would be under heavy daily use.
