hi all i have my i5 currently over clocked using the msi oc genie. but im looking into overclocking it myself once my watercooling is finished. can any one give me a rough idea of what i should be able to achieve on full custom water cooling. and also some rough settings to start with. im hoping to get to around 4.8ghz ?

I have a msi P67A-GD53(B3) with the i5 2500k cpu am getting 4.5GHz at 1.385 core voltage with a full liquid cooled system cpu + 2 x 670gta's in loop, at the moment in the summer my temps are 35 idle and 65-70 full load with a case temp of 32c

am no expert but there are plent of them here that can help, good luck :)

yer ive had mine running at 4.7 on 1.4v but decided to settle at 4.5, currently running tests to see if i can get core voltage lower :)

Pretty much, 30 minutes is what I use for initial stress tests.

Also have a play with Load line calibration or vdroop to find the setting that causes the smallest decrease in voltage.

Once the test fails drop the multiplier back down and test for longer. Overnight is a good idea.

Set Vcore to 1.4v and run 5 runs of AVX enabled Intel Burn Test with ALL RAM tested.

If it passes go up a multiplier, rinse and repeat until you hit temperature limit or chip limit.

Most people leave them to auto, and I do too.

As far as I know, adjusting them only helps with more advanced over clocking. However there are some experts out there who will tell you more.
