Got a question, I've never done any over clocking and as I only have the CPU cooler that came with the i5, would it be safe to do it? It's only at 3.4ghz at the moment, could I increase it at all?

If so, what way would you recommend? As I've said, I've never done this before so I don't have a clue what I'm doing. :D

Generally I would not recommend using the stock cooler for any overclocking. They are fine for stock speeds, but will probably not provide adequate cooling for anything above a minor overclock.

The Coolermaster CPU cooler linked below is probably one of the most commonly used out there for a basic OC.

For a first time overclock in the BIOS you can either change the base CPU multipiler to say x42 or what I did for the first couple of years I owned mine was set the turbo multipliers to 42,42,41,40.

Which means with 1 or 2 cores active it turbos to 4.2 GHz then drops to 4.1 GHz for 3 cores and then 4.0 GHz for all 4 cores active. Start there (or even start a bit lower at first) and you hopefully don't need to change anything else. Beyond that is when you start to play with voltages and fixed CPU ratios.
