Hi all,
I recently purchased an i7 7700k chip along with a Asus Strix Z270E Motherboard. However, I have also got my hands on a i5 6500 non k cpu that I wish to overclock in the Z270 Board if possible and compare the performance against my i7 for gaming.
I have read that it is possible to overclock these using BCLK in the Z170 Boards with a special bios but have failed to find any info on this using the Z270 boards.
I have used the i5 6500 in the board and when I raise the BCLK over 102 the system fails to post. I power it down then power up and the bios resets to defaults.
Any help greatly appreciated.
