Got a question regarding overclocking the i7 3770K.

When i had the old x58 setup i ran my 920 at 3.8Ghz fro nearly 3 years at 3.8Ghz no downclocking when not in use or anything like that, it stayed at 3.8Ghz 24/7, never caused a problem in all the time it was clocked.

Now i've upgraded to an i7 3770K, I've got it running 24/7 at 4.4Ghz with 1.120v with Vdroop set to 100%, Intel burntest set to maximum give me around 76c on the cores using a Zalman X12 aircooler.

Now i've been hearing that these cpu's degraded over time when running overclocked at full speed 24/7 is this true?, as i tend to turn off all the energy saving stuff in the bios when overclocking like i did with the X58 setup.

Eitherway i'm still saving money & the earth somewhat :P overclocking on this setup than i did with the 920 and the GTX480.

you should use power saving

what level loadline calibration are you using atm? and does that board have offset cpu voltage?

all you have to do is find an llc level and offset amount that is equal to your current fixed voltage

im running mine at 4.5ghz with power saving enabled, and i ran my ud5 x58 board with a 920 @4.2ghz the same way, power saving enabled

Well that the only problem with this msi mobo it doesn't have offset voltage, I've left the llc on auto for the time being.

yeah i heard about that before so i wasnt sure,i think auto lets it downclock itself? nicholp has the same board as you so he might help further
