Hello

First off I am a total noob when it comes to overclocking hence why I am making this topic... I have a few questions about overclicking my CPU

My CPU: Intel® Core™i7 Ten Core Processor Extreme i7-6950X (3.0GHz) 25MB Cache
Motherboard: Gigabyte X99 Ultra Gaming: ATX, LG2011-3, USB 3.1, SATA 6GBs, XFIRE/SLI
Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 Hydro Cooler w/ PCS Liquid Series Ultra Quiet Fans

1. Can I overclock this CPU, with the cooler? will it be able to keep it cool enough?

2. Whats the MAX I could overclock it to? (if I can overclock it)

3. What performce benefits will I see? not much or very much?

4. LOL - how do I do it? I know I know I said I was a noob... If I increase the clock speed then I have to increase the voltage too

Anybody out there overclocked a i7-6950X?
Any information that will help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you

Ok , i'll cover this point by point.

1. No

2. Most 6950x's will do 4.2 at less than 1.3v , anything more is just down to luck

3. A 4.2ghz overclock is a healthy bump from stock, so depending on the application quite a bit

4. Get a better cooler then worry about overclocking.

To add to what @darket said,

5. Do some reading about overclocking in general before you begin. Watch some videos.

The basic concepts are quite universal, it's only specific settings/quirks that vary from board to board.
