Does anyone have a non DO stepping i7 920, I have just got one and am going to use an Asus P6T mobo so wondered what sort of overclocks and temps to expect.
Read some review when the CO stepping was released that hit 4 but trying to decide on buying a Corsair H50 watercooling kit or sticking to air depending on what an average overclock and temps would be

You should be fine up to 3.8ghz on a C0 while keeping decent temps. If you are purely going to choose out of Air or the H50 go with the H50 and add a second 120mm fan but ideally a proper water cooling kit would be the best.

If you keep Turbo mode switched on so it uses x21 multiplier and set a 160 bclk it will run at 3.6ghz and then turbo up to 3.8ghz when needed thus keeping temps low :)

4ghz on a C0 will be harder as the core voltage will need a big jump from 3.8 so I doubt the H50 will be able to cool it enough under under full load but some people are luckier than others with the chips they get...

I have only just got my H-50, but so far have my C0 at 3.82 with 191*20 with no turbo, im thinking of dropping the multi and pushing the BCLK up. Current temps are low 40's on idle.

Thanks, not looking to go to mad on the overclock 3.6 to 3.8 was what I was looking at as didn't want to fiddle with voltages to much and my ram is just some basic samsung stuff but its got 1.5 volt c9 1333 profile so will probably stick to a low divider.
