I started overclocking yesterday & i have conflicting Information.
the guide at the top stated to find your max FSB (which is BCLK on I7?) by 5 each time. so i increased the BCLK to 140 from 130 & got to 3.2ghz (i7 940)
later on i read you should not increase BCLK as it reduces life span. can somone can confirm please.
on another note my ram went from 1600mhz to 1120mhz i think i need to change the memory ratio. however on my motherboard Asus OC Palm Dexule V2 i have DRAM Frequency & it allow me to set it to different mhz without a 2:8 etc is this current way of doing this?
(i left the rest on auto) for the moment i have set it back to 2.93ghz from 3.2.
only reason for overclocking is my 2.93ghz i feel is holding my cards back (570GTX SLI) this was proved in heaven benchmark.
