Overclocking individual 5820k cores higher??

Hi I’m looking to increase the speed of my 5820k so it lasts me just a little longer.

it does 4.4 all core at 1.28 volts, but that seems to be it’s wall. If I wanted to try to clock individual cores higher (and keep the others at 4.4) what is the best way to do it?

Try each one at a time to see if it fails? Watch something like prime 95 to see which cores fail first? (I don’t like using prime for stability testing really just realbench)

I video edit on it, but I know a lot of games like a single fast core for the main thread, so I’m hoping I could get one or two of them up to 4.6 maybe?

I don’t have a cache overclocking mobo but have it set at a modest 3.5, my ram is at 3200/14/14/14/35

any help gratefully received

@Pooh I noticed you overclocked you 7960x by core, how did you do it?

Firstly what board are you running ?, secondly running the memory at 3200 on a 5820k is probably going to hinder your cpu overclocks massively for little to no benefit by putting a huge amount of strain on the memory controller. 2400 + tight timings was always the sweet spot for haswell-e.

as above..
first lower memory then try again
mine was doing 4.7 for benchmarks but you need a lot of cooling...
4.5 was stable for everyday use with 1.3v vccin 1.9v i left memory @2666Mhz
also what are you using for testing? new prime95 with avx will kill your cpu very quickly...
try prime 26.6 for testing stability

4.75 with strap 125 was my maximum
