Hi, after two failed attempts I thought I had best get some help, I have a gigabyte p55mud2 mobo with intel i5 750 and was wondering what's the safest I can get this up to and how? I'ts currently on 2.67. Any help will be appreciated, thanks

You should be able to run 3.5ghz at least without too much trouble.

In the bios select highest multiplier which will be 21 with turbo enabled and then up the baseclock 'fsb' to 166 or thereabouts.

Leave everything at auto to start and take it from there. Drop your memory multiplier if you need too so as not to overclock your memory past its correct setting.

Anyway this will explain it better.

I had an i5 750 before i had my 760 and it did 3.5ghz with no trouble with everything on auto on my gigabyte board.

I've set the CPU clock ratio to 21x an the blck frequency to 155 to get around 3.25ghz. What do I need to change the memory too?
The system memory multiplier is on auto ad gives me a choice of 6 8 or 10

Also changed the voltage to CPU vcore 1.3 and vtt from 1.1 to 1.21

Anything else I need to try,
Thanks

What cooler have you got?

I've had my i5 750 stable at 4.2 Ghz, not that I run it that way. I usually run it at stock, a s I like my peace and quiet, but it sits easy at 3.5 ish. That's with an Asus board though. The auto overclock thingy gets 3.7 or so.

I have no idea, I've got it running at 3.25 now and running occt and my cpu temp is around 84 is this normal?
