Well I've done a bit of overclocking on my P4 before now. So Idecided I would give it a bash with my C2D. Now on the Motherboard I cannot find the option to increase the multiplyer, its just not there, or if it is then its greyed out. So I put my FSB up to 285 slowly from 266. If I put it anything past that my system wont POST.

Is it the Motherboard that is stopping it? rig in sig.

Don't think you can change the multiplier on a E6300, I wouldn't expect overclocking using that board to be a walk in the park anyhoo... With a DS3 on the otherhand, easy as cake :p . buy a ds3

Multi locked upwards im afraid, you can pick up some decent 650i mobos for £80ish nowadays.
