Hi guys i recently purchased an overclocked i5 system from ocuk and am currently having problems with a failed overclock. The problem being after a couple of hours the pc will freeze and after i switch it off and on, it comes up on the dos screen that the reason was due to a failed overclock,Ive gone into the bios and selected the presaved ocuk overclock settings (as it resets it to default after it freezes) only for it to do it again a couple of hours later. Any ideas guys?, i know abit about pcs so if theres any settings etc i need to change i can do it this end. ps ive sent it to the ocuk customer section also, but any ideas from you guys would be great also

Cheers

James

Don't change any settings in BIOS, if it's unstable, contact OcUK. It's in their very interest now to help you out solving the issue - you purchased an overclocked bundle and you expect it to work properly.

I bet they just sell a lot of these stuff lately and don't have enough time to test them properly. I was always curious of the tweaking they actually do when overclocking them bundles, do they use some pre-sets and then adjust them or do them each individually?

my guess is. once they have overclocked a few they get a idea what the bundle needs and develop a generic profile which they use on future bundles. id be supprised it they fully tested them although i could be wrong.

I thought they would test it, different boards, cpus ram can all make or break an overclock, they probably leave a quite large header percentage on the basic profile to accommodate for these differences, but sometimes in a few cases it might not be enough.

As said before talk to OcUK, if it was a bundle you brought maybe it overheating since the heatsink may have been installed incorrectly?

If its prebuilt don't be messing they will fix it for you.

hi its a full system i bought of them, allthough surely if it was a bundle you would have to be slightly retarded to put a heat sink on wrong?, Ill wait for them to answer on the customer forum.
